01 — The trip
River temples, forest trails and Odisha's least-visited heartland
Your trip captain meets the group at the station and heads to a resort in Sambalpur. Day one is Maa Samaleswari, Huma’s leaning temple and the bell-hung Ghanteswari shrine on the Mahanadi. Day two crosses Hirakud Dam into Debrigarh’s forests before a night in Bargarh. Day three circles the Gandhamardan hills for Nrusinghanath, Harishankar’s waterfall and Balangir’s Jagannath Temple. Day four follows the Mahanadi through Sonepur and Boudh before the drop.
Three cool-season batches through a corner of Odisha most travellers never see, with a new town, river or forest every single day.
