01 — The trip
Pine forests, coffee slopes and frosty mornings in Kandhamal
Your trip captain picks the group up in Bhubaneswar at dawn for the long climb into Kandhamal, with breakfast and lunch stops on the way. By afternoon you’re checking in at a Daringbadi hill resort with a welcome drink, then walking coffee plantations and watching the valley from Lovers Point before a cold, starry night. Day two loops the hill top viewpoint, Doluri river, pine forest and a waterfall, then the emu farm before the drive home.
Short winter weekends in Odisha’s coldest hill station, when frost shows up on the grass and pine forests turn the air crisp.

By road
Daringbadi is about 250 km or six to seven hours from Bhubaneswar, via Nayagarh and Phulbani on winding ghat roads.

Timed for the cold
