01 — The trip
Sal forests, tiger country and waterfalls falling off the hills
Your trip captain meets the group at Balasore, or drives up from Bhubaneswar, and heads into the Nilgiri hills. Day one strings together Panchalingeswar’s stream-washed lingams, Nilagiri’s Jagannath Temple and Remuna’s Khirachora Gopinath before reaching a jungle resort at Similipal. Day two is the big one: a full safari through the tiger reserve past Sitakund, Bhimkund, Uski, Barehipani and Joranda falls. Day three rolls through Baripada before the station drop.
Three winter batches timed for when Similipal reopens after the monsoon, its waterfalls still running full and the sal forest cool and green.
